Fast charging only works when the phone, the charger and the cable all support the same standard. Before you buy, check what your phone supports: USB Power Delivery (PD) for most modern phones, or the maker’s own fast-charging standard for some brands.
Check the wattage your phone can accept
A 65W charger will not charge a phone faster than the phone allows. Most phones accept between 18W and 45W, so a charger that matches that range is usually enough. Higher wattage is useful if you also want to charge a tablet or laptop with the same adapter.
Do not ignore the cable
A cheap cable can limit charging speed and may heat up. Look for a cable rated for the wattage you need, with a firm connector and a braided or reinforced body. Keep cables loosely coiled instead of tightly folded, which is the most common reason they fail.
A few simple habits
Unplug the charger when it is not in use, avoid charging under a pillow, and replace any cable with exposed wires. Browse our Mobile Accessories collection for chargers, cables and power banks.
